Like you, I have a have a variety of roles in my life. Some include family relationships like wife, mom, and grandma. I still love my high school sweetheart Wayne and we have been married for 48 years. Together we raised four children, welcomed three children-in-law, and now there are eight adorable grandchildren. You’ll get to know them if you read Three Generations Fight Cancer Together. They really make the book unique.
After high school in New Jersey, I went to Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and became an English teacher for five years. Then the kids started arriving and I discovered a variety of ways to work part-time from home.
During those years I also discovered the blessings of women’s Bible studies. Gathering with women around a kitchen table or in a church fellowship room produces amazing insights and help. I guess that’s why they keep growing—they produce so many benefits.
I also found out I loved to volunteer at my kids’ schools, Right-to-Life, and church. Those led to some very interesting experiences I’ll share on the blogs.
When the kids went off to college, I went back to high school for 12 years at Calvin Christian High in Grandville. I learned so much from my students as they shared their stories in writing and speeches. I love stories—reading them, hearing them, exchanging them.
I love Jesus and seeing Him at work in our lives.
